Privacy Policy

Last updated August 8, 2026

Hubwald is a shared household hub built for families and their caregivers — a calendar, contacts, kids' reference info, meal planning, and an au pair scheduler, all in one bilingual app. This page explains what information Hubwald collects, why, and how it's protected.

Who this applies to

Hubwald is invite-only. You end up here either because your family's admin invited you, or because a placement agency issued your family a signup code. There's no public sign-up.

Information we collect

How we use it

Solely to run the app for your family: syncing your calendar, showing your household's own data back to you, sending the notifications you've opted into, coordinating a babysitting job you've posted, and answering questions you ask the assistant. Nothing here is used for advertising, and Hubwald doesn't sell or rent personal information to anyone.

Who else touches this data

Hubwald runs on Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure. A few specific features route data through other Google services or a small number of vetted providers, only as needed to provide that feature:

None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own purposes beyond delivering the feature in question.

AI and Limited Use compliance

Hubwald's chat assistant and AI meal suggestions are powered by Google Gemini (via Vertex AI). When you ask the assistant a question, it may read your own family's calendar and household data — the same data your family already sees inside the app — to generate an answer for you in that moment.

Hubwald's use of data obtained through Google Workspace APIs, including the Google Calendar API, complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. This data is used only to provide and improve the requesting family's own experience of Hubwald's features — such as answering their assistant questions or suggesting meals — and is never used, transferred, or sold to develop, train, or improve any generalized or foundational AI/ML model, whether raw, aggregated, or derived.

Family and agency boundaries

Every family's data is isolated from every other family's — this is enforced at the database level, not just hidden in the interface. A placement agency that brings your family onto Hubwald can see whether your account is set up and connected, but cannot see your calendar, notes, contacts, or assistant conversations.

Children's information

Hubwald is designed for use by parents, guardians, and caregivers — not for direct use by children. Any information about a child (like allergy or doctor info) is entered by a parent or guardian for their own family's reference, not collected by Hubwald directly from a child.

Data retention and deletion

Your family's data is automatically backed up nightly. A family admin can disconnect the calendar at any time, and can request permanent deletion of the family's entire account and data by contacting us below — this removes the family's records, membership, and any uploaded photos.

Your choices

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest via Google Cloud's infrastructure. Access to each family's data is restricted by server-enforced rules scoped to that family's own members.
